I have recently added some video of Chris Harris driving a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France. This car one of only nine built came fifth in the 1957 Tour de France. Finished in light blue…..
Enjoy some of these fabulous old video's which show a lot of the roads featured in this web site but from an era long gone.....dusty roads check out the 1958 Shell film of The Coupe Des Alps...around 15 minutes in you find the Stelvio...Paddy Hopkirk in a 1958 Triumph TR3 with 3 wheels on his wagon and old Zephyrs and pre BMC Riley's, Austin Healey's and Fogeyed's, MG's, Alfa's, a Citroen a with wooden door! only 5 out of 56 starters made it to the finish. Alfa’s being the car to have in 1958. Pat Moss (Stirling’s sister) wins the ladies award.
Earliest video is from 1949 that features 356 Porsches and a split screen example I have seen in Stuttgart Museum...an all aluminium special I recall.
Worth looking at the more recent Evo video as this covers a Le Mans trip but also takes in the Rouen Circuit that we often travel along en-route to the 24 hour race each year as we work our way around Rouen either Pont de Brettone, ferry over the Seine or along the road with the old circuit.
Old Gotthard Pass Circa 1965 is a classic, watch for E-Type being helped by the Swiss Police Motorcyclist and MGB with front suspension challenges.....
