Great Driving Roads in the British Isles and Europe

Having recently organised two successful driving trips. One in 2016 to complete North Coast 500 and another in 2017 a tour of Mid-Wales it soon became clear to me to organise an Alpine Tour the internet provided a mass of good data (lots of video's but needed an aggregator/consolidator to pull together to weed out the best from the chaff). My goal was to achieve a magazine style website. Easy listening and reading.....

This required a fair amount of research to create a logical structure to produce a great holiday program. I hope you find this helpful to cut through a lot of the background research work.

I was able to create a very sensible plan for a 2,000 mile tour of the best alpine roads [actually about same length as a tour from the south of England up to Inverness and then around NC500]. Such a trip typically, takes about 7 days to take in the lovely scenery and soak up the views and the atmosphere.

You will see I have found some really hot cars to show off these amazing passes and drives. Porsches. Ferrari's, Mclaren's and a Lambo......

I have to say I think I have pulled together some amazing video's here but my favourite is the Ferrari 458 Spider driving Stelio Pass. The combo of the pass and the Ferrari well take a good look.....you will see what I mean.

The lucky Pilot is a well known Evo man Jethro Bovington, on this occasion doing a bit of ghost writing for the US Magazine Car And Driver... a great job.

Jethro was also the feature writer for Evo COTY 2013. He does a splendid job again. Catch it from 9 minutes in on the Part 2 video in the GT3. it's on the N85 (Route Napoleon) real motoring.

In the Speed section you will find a treble race, 918 Spyder v P1 Mclaren v Ducati motor bike....this has over 15m hits on Youtube. If not seen before is a fascinating illustration of speed....

Austria

Grossglockner, Silvretta, Hahntennjoch and Timmelsjoch are the hot recommendations.

Italy

Stelvio, Umbrail and Colle de Nivolet (made famous in the Italian Job with Michael Caine)

Switzerland

Too many to list but includes Furka (made famous in James Bond film, Goldfinger with Sean Connery driving the DB5) Gotthard, Grimsel and Susten.

In 2018 there were 137 unique visitors. We achieved 404 Unique visits in 2019.

We have maintained this momentum.

We have just achieved over 1,000 unique visits in 2021 (roughly 3 folks a day) much the same result that we did in 2020.
